Dear colleagues, We hope this message finds you well, and you and your families are safe and in good health. At this unprecedented time a lot of world leading institutions undertake numerous efforts to make their contribution to fighting against a new coronavirus infection. And St. Petersburg University is no exception. Back in XIX century, our university was the place where the viruses were first discovered by Dmitry Ivanovsky, an outstanding University scholar credited as one of the founders of virology. We are eager to continue our research in the field of virology and share our knowledge and expertise with the world academic community. In this regard, we are pleased to announce that at the initiative of Raul Gainetdinov, Director of the SPbU Institute of Translational Biomedicine, Scientific Director of the SPbU Hospital, and Igor Tikhonovich, Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Rector of St Petersburg University decided to create a museum dedicated to Dmitry Ivanovsky. The new exhibition will provide an insight into the life and work of this great scientist, as well as into the discovery of the world's first virus at St Petersburg University.
